Ibogaine Therapy is a step by step procedure. This experience is characterized by three distinct phases; the onset of which progresses gradually beginning 45-60 minutes following administration.
First Phase (4-8 hours): Acute Phase
The acute phase begins 1 to 3 hours after administration and will typically last 4 to 8 hours. Many report a variable of panoramic visual experiences of past memories.
The neuro-reset, neuro-rebalancing, and detoxification of the addiction receptors begins immediately following the initial administration.
Second Phase (8-18 hours): Evaluative Phase
The evaluative phase of an ibogaine therapy begins approximately 4 to 8 hours after administration and may last between 8 to 18 hours. Many report a more neutral and reflective emotional tone.
Attention is directed at evaluating the experiences of the acute phase. It is often preferred to have as little environmental stimuli as possible during this phase and the acute phase as the individual will become more sensitive to sound and light.
After 10 hours the intensity of the experience will lessen but continue on a cognitive level in a highly relaxed state.
Third Phase (24-48 hours): Residual Stimulation Phase
The residual stimulation phase begins approximately 12 to 18 hours after administration and can last 24 to 48 hours or more. Attention shifts back to the external environment, normal physical movement returns and most report heightened arousal and vigilance during this period.
After 24 hours individuals enter the “recovery phase”. This is the time to rest and be peaceful within oneself while reflecting upon the experience.
